A beautiful morning with clear skies at Orakei seeing the Matariki cluster for the first time as a kura. Some great mahi by our kaumatua Papa Ross and kuia Nanny Kahu.
Then back to kura for the pohiri to welcome Richmond Rd and Kowhai.
A tasty big breakfast was prepared by all our whanau parents led by Matua Henry and Whaea Kahu.
The students were broken up into 4 groups for some papamahi workshops...kite making..waka tangata..korowai and matariki wananga...
A great day for all whanau and students.

MATARIKI Kiwicare visit
This morning we got picked up by 2 Kiwicare vans and visited the CHILDCARE CENTRE on Wolverton St.
It is Matariki and we did some waiata and taught them some of the kaupapa we know about Matariki. It was great to see all the tamariki nohinohi. It was especially awesome for TK and Tarati as their little brother Te Kakekai goes to Kiwicare.
